Indianhead

Unusual in having its base lodge at the top of the slopes, Indianhead also has Michigan's biggest vertical drop. The resort was recently bought out by a new owner who has implemented a 5 year redevelopment plan. Snowmobiling trails located in the resort connect to the main trails in the Upper Peninsula region.

Indianhead is part of the Big Snow ski area with access to 56 marked pistes, served by a total of 15 ski lifts. From Indianhead you can ski to the other villages of Blackjack.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Indianhead is Madison, 127 minutes drive away.

Chippewa Valley and Central Wisconsin airports are all within three hours drive.

We don't yet have specific details of the COVID-19 precautions being taken in Indianhead, but they are likely to include most of the following :-

  • Reduced lift capacity.
