A small, family-run, British tour operator has ceased trading suddenly after 43 years in business.
Ski-Val, established in 1976, operated ski holidays to Val d'Isere in France and St Anton in Austria.
The Devon-based company's failure was announced midweek whilst some of its clients were in resort and with other due to travel out at the weekend.
"It is with great sadness and after 43 years operating in the ski business, we are extremely sorry to inform you that Val-Ski Ltd has ceased trading," a brief statement on the operator's website says, advising customers to contact ATOL.
Ski-Val was licensed to carry 4,170 ATOL-protected passengers and those who have bookings to travel with the company over the remaining weeks of the season have a number of options depending on what they want to do and the method by which they had paid for their holiday.
