Skiing in Arizona in June

Published : 23-May-2024 07:13

The Arizona Snowbowl ski area says it will open on Saturday, June 1st for the latest closing date that the state of Arizona have ever seen.

The resort is currently one of 9 US ski centres in six US states that is still operating in late May, more than any other country, however most of these have said they'll be ending their seasons at the end of next Monday, the Memorial Day holiday in the US, leaving only a couple of others likely to stay open into June.
"Conditions are still incredible across the mountain after receiving 281 inches of snowfall this season and 55 of those inches falling in April alone. The 2023/2024 winter season now takes the lead as Snowbowl's longest ski season in history," said an Arizona Snowbowl spokesperson, adding, "We will be open for skiing and snowboarding on Memorial Day weekend, (Friday, May 24th – Monday, May 27th) and then will reopen on Saturday, June 1st for the latest closing date Snowbowl and the state of Arizona have ever seen."
