St Anton Snow Report | 16-17 December 2025

Iain from The Ski Podcast has been out in St Anton in Austria.

"The situation here is certainly not the vintage, record-setting conditions that has been reported around the Alps. That was justifiably driven by the late-November snowfall, which was excellent. However, since then December has been mainly dry and warm."

"On Tuesday, only 50% of the ski area was open, but the slopes that were open, especially above 1800m were all in good condition, with no rocks or thin patches. Skiing down to Stuben and St Christoph in particular was very good, with cold, grippy snow."

"On Wednesday, the Rendl side of the mountain opened for the first time this winter and the snow there was very good as well."

"The main issue is that some pistes are not open and the temperatures have been too high to run snow cannons. There is no snow in the forecast, but temperatures are due to go sub-zero from about the 24th, so there will be much more artificial snow-making from that point onwards."
