Snow Forecast Summary - February 21st 2008

Published : 21-Feb-2008 10:16

The present clear weather is set to continue through the coming weekend, with temperatures likely to peak on Saturday and take the freezing level to around 3,000 metres just about everywhere. Sun cream and t-shirts?

A good number of ski areas should see snow early in the week, however, with cooler weather taking the zero line swiftly back to 2,000 metres on Monday and snow possible down to around 1,500 metres in places.

Beyond the next week, temperatures look set to fall - and there is increasing likelihood of precipitation in the first week of March; possibly significant quantities, so we'll be watching the weather systems and forecasts closely over the next few days.

Do remember that alpine forecasts more than 48 hours ahead are extremely variable and can change dramatically from one forecast to the next, particularly in the presence of complex weather systems.

That is all (for now),
