Built around the famous South Zeal Menhir Standing Stone, this 12th-century manor house is set in its own 4-acre monastery gardens in a pretty Devonshire village.
Important Information
The property has its own on site free car park, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, there is free parking opposite the property in the village of South Zeal and a large free and well-lit public car park 150 metres away. We do not have a 24-hour manned reception, so please do not book here if you plan to return at night to our property after 11.20 PM.

The room is accessed via 2 ancient stone steps and an old oak doorway. It also includes a TV with a DVD player, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making facilities with water and biscuits. Superior Double Room with Four Poster Bed (Sleeps 2, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom)
With a hand-carved oak super king-size four-poster bed, this light and airy room has views over the village. It is situated in the old manor house and has a modern en suite bathroom. With antique furniture and seating, the room includes tea and coffee making facilities with water, a TV with a DVD player, and a hairdryer. This room is not suitable for an additional child's bed

With a character open four-poster super king-size bed, this room was once occupied by Charles Dickens. Situated in the old manor house, it overlooks the village. The large modern bathroom is in the Gothic Tudor section, over the manor house porch. This room is not suitable for an additional child's bed

Originally the master bedroom for the manor house and uniquely located above the prehistoric standing stone, this imposing room boasts a super king-size bed which can also be 2 single 3' beds and antique furniture. With a beamed ceiling, two armchairs, and controlled lighting, the room has a stone fireplace and stone walls. It offers a modern shower room, a TV with a DVD player, and tea/coffee making facilities. This room is suitable for an additional child's bed.
King Room with Four Poster Bed (Double, Sleeps 2, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom)
With a king-size Victorian oak open four-poster bed and ancient stone walls, this room is located in the original manor house, with views over the village of South Zeal.
