Gourette in the Ossau valley at an altitude of 1400m has been completely overhauled over the past few years and now offers the berst skiing with ultra modern uplift. It's also one of the most snow-sure resort in the Pyrenees although little known outside France/Spain. Functional buildings include 14 bars and 12 restaurants.

There are more than 20 runs for skiers of all ability level, the steepest is the Pene Blanque run. The Bézou sector is specially equipped with gentle ski lifts and travelators for beginners.

Ultra-modern lifts include the 10-seater Bézou gondola lift (2700 people an hour), the Pitchoun and anglas quad chairs and Plaa-Ségouna detachable 6-seater ski lift (capacity 3000 people and hour) . 150 snow guns cover all the ski slopes, supplied by twoi giant reservoirs.


The French ski resort of Gourette is in the French Pyrenees at an altitude of 1,400m, with 31km of marked runs.

Gourette has direct access to 31km of downhill skiing, with 29 marked pistes, served by a total of 21 ski lifts.

With ski lifts as high as 2,400m, snow cover is generally reliable.


Gourette offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate and Beginner skiers.

The longest possible descent in Gourette is 4km long and the most difficult run is the 'Pene Blanque'.


Gourette's Boardercross has a fun-filled 1 km course with 12 bends dropping over a distance of nearly 400m. T The snowpark covers 8000 m2 with a succession of three moguls, landing platforms, slide bars plus its freestyle chalet.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Gourette is Lourdes, 63 minutes drive away.

Pau, Biarritz, Huesca, Toulouse and San Sebastián airports are all within three hours drive.

Lourdes is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.


Ski Lift Capacity

The 21 ski lifts are able to uplift 20,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow Making

Snow-making is available, on 20km of ski runs, with 50 snow cannons.
