The Italian ski resort of Sappada is in the Italian Dolomites at an altitude of 1,250m, with 22km of marked runs.


Sappada has direct access to 22km of downhill skiing, with 21 marked pistes, served by a total of 16 ski lifts.


Sappada offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate and Beginner skiers.


Sappada offers some good boarding and there are a variety of Snow and Terrain Parks in Sappada.

Where is Sappada?

This ski resort is in the Italian Dolomites in Province of Belluno, Veneto.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Sappada is Trieste, 101 minutes drive away.

Venice, Bolzano, Innsbruck Airport and Treviso airports are all within three hours drive.


Ski Lift Capacity

The 16 ski lifts are able to uplift 11,800 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow Making

Snow-making is available, on 14km of ski runs, with 25 snow cannons.

Season Dates

When is Sappada open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is mid December, and usual closing is Early April.

NOTE:- Ski area, lift and piste opening is subject to Current Snow Conditions.

We don't yet have specific details of the COVID-19 precautions being taken in Sappada, but they are likely to include most of the following :-

  • Face masks required on lifts, and in shops.
  • Social distancing in public areas.
  • Reduced lift capacity.
  • Extensive disinfection / sanitization.
