One of Europe's newest ski areas, linked by cable car in 1986, although first skied by British ski pioneer Sir Arnold Lunn 90 years ago. Frutigen is a small town with a population of 6350 and 10 hotels and guest houses, facilities include an indoor pool complex.


The Swiss ski resort of Frutigen is in the Swiss Alps at an altitude of 800m, with 29km of marked runs.

Frutigen has direct access to 29km of downhill skiing, with 14 marked pistes, served by a total of 8 ski lifts.

With ski lifts as high as 2,340m, snow cover is generally reliable.


There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.


Frutigen offers some good boarding.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Frutigen is Berne, 50 minutes drive away.

Sion, Basel, Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, Zurich, Annecy, Lugano, St. Gallen-Altenrhein and Strasbourg airports are all within three hours drive.

Berne is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.


Ski Lift Capacity

The eight ski lifts are able to uplift 4,800 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow Making

Snow-making is available, on 10km of ski runs, with 20 snow cannons.
