From The Metro ...

British skier Chemmy Alcott may be recovering from a broken leg but this ailment did not prevent the 31-year-old from breaking a world record on Tuesday evening.

Alcott, who suffered her injury in August, attended the launch of the 2014 Guinness Book of Records and set a new benchmark in a field most pub dwellers have attempted to perfect – flipping and catching beer mats.

The Twickenham-born alpine star's feat, achieved in a 30-second time-limit, was made even more remarkable as she admitted to never attempting the skill before.

From Chemmy's Facebook page...

Life long dream accomplished today! Officially broke a world record! My brothers and I used to get the Guinness book of records every Christmas and set challenges. Who would have guessed that one day I would be the proud owner of a World Record for the most beer mats flipped and caught in 30 seconds! How very very random (especially since I had never done it before tonight plus rarely if ever go to pubs!)

After that, the Gold Medals will come easy!
