Les Deux Alpes Summer 2015 Opening - Saturday!

From 20 June to 29 August 2015 the glacier opens every day from 7 to 12.30pm. There are 111 hectares of slopes with 9 blue runs, 1 green run, 1 red run, a beginner area, freestyle area and a freeride area, making it perfect for all standards of skiers and snowboarders. The glacier is at 3,200m and is accessible from the resort via a 30minute ride with the Jandri Express cable car.

The snow conditions on the glacier are excellent for the opening, with an average height of snow of 255cm – and over 3m above 3,000m (photos attached). Even if there were less snowfalls last winter than during winter 2013/14, the summer conditions are the same than last year thanks to the work done. Les 2 Alpes spends a lot of time working on the glacier to ensure it is in optimal condition. This includes harvesting snow on the glacier and distributing it daily to ensure great snow coverage and well maintained pistes.

Les 2 Alpes is also a mountain bike mecca and one of the most established mountain bike destinations in Europe.

The mountain biking season is starting on Friday with the MTB Opening Party. Running from the 19th to 21st June, it is a big celebration of the opening of Les 2 Alpes for mountain biking. On Friday 19th June, there is a pre-opening day where just 600 participants get to ride the trails for the first time. And for these 600 VIPS, they also get dinner on the mountain, a BBQ in the evening, a concert, and some extra surprises! The 600 people also get a special offer on mountain bike passes and night riding on Saturday evening (100 people maximum).
