3 Valleys Set To Fully Open

The links between the separate valleys of the 3 Valleys are set to open this Saturday, connecting up the parts of the world's largest lift-linked ski area.
Despite a lack of fresh snow in the Alps for over a week, a situation that looks likely to continue well in to next week, big November snowfalls and low temperatures for snowmaking means piste conditions are generally good.
The huge region with 600km of piste linking more than a dozen base villages got off to a good start for 16-17
with Courchevel opening for one Friday, free of charge, in mid-November in celebration of big early season snowfalls.
Val Thorens also opened a week early before welcoming 15000 skiers to its opening weekend.
The rest of the area's resorts all open this weekend.
Snow numbers for all resorts have not yet been published but Courchevel says there's 15-80cm of snow on its slopes and Val Thorens some of the best figures in the world at present with a 60-135cm base.
