New Ski Runs and Itineraries at Val Thorens

Val Thorens in the 3 Valleys has announced it will be opening two new ski runs this coming winter, along with four new off piste itineraries.
The longest of the new runs will be a two mile (3.2km) long run accessible to all levels of skier starting from La Cime Caron and descending 570 vertical metres.
The second new descent will be a new black in the resort's Boismint sector.
Despite the new pistes seaming to add more terrain to the 3 Valleys the area seems set to continue to report its signature total terrain length at 600km of runs as it has for more than four decades during which time dozens of new runs have opened.
After the inauguration of La Camille route last year, Val Thorens' ski touring options are expanding further with four new itineraries.
"All you have to do is choose between climbing opposite Péclet's majestic aiguilles or La Cime Caron for a complete change of scenery that lets you rediscover the Val Thorens ski area," a statement from the ski area confirms.
The runs vary from 2 to 6-kilometres in length and let you work your way upwards, as a gentle introduction to ski touring.
Val Thorens aims to open for the 18-19 season on Saturday 17th November a week ahead of the 'Grande Première' weekend on 24-25 November which (on the basis of previous events) should see 15,000 skiers per day, 60 brands in attendance, over 5,000 products available to test and 80% of the ski area open.
