First ‘Snowtunnel’ to be located in Melbourne, Australia

Melbourne is set to become home to one of the first 'Snowtunnel' – an ambitious new snowsport project that will feature a massive rotating indoor snow slope.
Australian startup Snowtunnel has announced plans for its first showcase site in Melbourne's west, around 11 kilometres from the city centre.
The venue is expected to open in late 2026 and will introduce the company's patented 'Endless Mountain' technology to the public for the very first time.
The Snowtunnel will stand 12.5m high and be 16m long. Unlike a traditional ski slope, the tunnel continuously rotates beneath riders, creating an "infinite downhill" experience on real groomed snow.
The site will also include more than 600m2 of skiable snow area, akin to a 'regular' indoor snow centre, with dedicated learning areas, family zones, gear hire and alpine-style experiences.
The founders are hoping the concept will take off in the way that urban surf centres have and will go global.
Some social media users have compared it to a giant "snow hamster wheel." Have your say on our Facebook page or make a comment below.
