Krakaubene

Krakautal promotes itself as The Healthy Valley - Climatic Health Resort and sits on a large, usually sunny and normally fog-free plateau on the south facing slopes of the Schladming Tauern mountain range, a far cry from mass tourism. Here you will find regional climatic conditions which help to maintain and attain health. There are

family-friendly ski slopes (snow sure with snow cannons), a ski school with ski hire and large ski resorts such as Kreischberg, Lachtal, Frauenalpe, Speiereck, Obertauern etc. are all approximately 20 - 30km (12 to 19 miles) away. Locally there are fantastic off-piste skiing opportunities such as on Preber (2,741m).
