Himos is one of the world's newest ski centres, established in 1984. It offers one of the best mix of trails in Finland, with virtually all the lifts offering a choice of easy to difficult descents of up to 950m length. Established in 1984 Himos is one of the world's newer ski resorts and offers one of the best mix of trails in Finland, with virtually all the lifts offering a choice of easy to difficult descents of up to 950m length. It is one of the most popular downhill ski centres in Southern and Central Finland, a true family holiday paradise where, providing they wear a helmet, children ski free. On the Mountain

Skiing in Himos

Himos consists of 2 ski areas; West Himos (Lansi-Himos) and North-Himos (Pohjois Himos) with 17 slopes and 11 lifts. Lift ticket is valid in both areas and a Courtesy Shuttle Service (Skibuss) will transport you between areas during weekends and holiday periods.

Thanks to their effective and modern snowmaking equipment which covers all slopes, the ski season is exceptionally long, usually November to May.

For nordic skiers, Himos has 20km of cross-country tracks, 4km of which are floodlit. The tracks are connected to public tracks in Middle Finland thus giving over 100km of cross-country tracks.

Himos is an official Finnish Freestyle training centre and the top freestylists can be seen here practicing on the jumps and training in the moguls.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

Snowboarding in Himos

200 rental boards and reputedly the best park in Finland. Himos has two halfpipes and a snowboarding street with challenging jumps.

When is Himos open?

Usual opening is early November, and usual closing is Early May.

Himos is able to make snow, on 10km of ski runs, with 75 snow cannons.
