Oz-en-Oisans

This tiny hamlet is the 'base' of the huge Alpe D'Huez 'maximum vertical'. So long as the lift works it's well linked in to the circuit, but the piste back is slightly more tenuous.

The French ski resort of Oz-en-Oisans is in the French Alps at an altitude of 1,350m, with 62km of marked runs.

Oz-en-Oisans is part of the Alpe d’Huez grand domaine Ski area with access to 389km of downhill skiing, with 304 marked pistes, served by a total of 150 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Oz-en-Oisans itself (62km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Alpe d’Huez grand domaine Ski ski resorts of Alpe d'Huez, Auris-en-Oisans, Vaujany and Villard Reculas.

With ski lifts as high as 2,850m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Oz-en-Oisans is Grenoble, 56 minutes drive away.

Chambery, Lyon Bron, Lyon St-Exupéry, Annecy, Geneva, Saint-Étienne and Avignon airports are all within three hours drive.

Grenoble is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Snow-making is available, on 50km of ski runs, with 700 snow cannons.
