Andermatt is part of the SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun area with access to 120km of downhill skiing, with 65 marked pistes, served by a total of 22 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Andermatt itself (101km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun ski resorts of Disentis Sedrun and Realp. Andermatt is directly linked by Ski Lift to the ski areas of Sedrun.

With ski lifts as high as 2,960m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Skiing

The Andermatt ski area is dominated by the Gemsstock mountain, reaching an elevation of 2,961 meters. Notable pistes include the challenging 'Schwarze Piste' and the scenic 'Gemsstock' run, served by modern lifts such as the Gemsstock cable car and the Andermatt-Realp lift.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

Snowboarding

Snowboarders will enjoy the terrain park at the Gemsstock area, which features jumps and obstacles suitable for various skill levels. The off-piste opportunities around Andermatt also offer thrilling experiences for adventurous riders.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Andermatt is Lugano, 75 minutes drive away.

Zurich, Basel, Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, Milan Malpensa, Sion, Berne, Milan Linate, St. Gallen-Altenrhein and Bergamo airports are all within three hours drive.

Andermatt is accessible via the nearest major airports in Zurich and Geneva, with train connections to Andermatt station. The scenic train journey offers beautiful views of the Swiss landscape.

When is Andermatt open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is mid November (weekends from mid-Nov then full time in December), and usual closing is Early May ( ).
