With the end of the French travel ban on British skiers and snowboarders last Friday, ski resorts in France have been celebrating the return of 'les rosbifs'.
Méribel has always had a close relationship with Britain. It was founded by a Scotsman, Peter Lindsay, in 1938 and in most 'normal' winter seasons British visitors make up 38% of the resort's total clientele.
Yesterday the Les 3 Vallées resort celebrated the fact that people from Britain can travel to France again by lighting up its slopes with the projection of a giant heart in colours of the British flag, which was also the finish point for a torchlit descent by ESF instructors.
