Kitzbuhel Opens For the 21-22 Season
Published : 30-Oct-2021 06:17
Kitzbuhel has opened for its 21-22 season, using snow farming (saving snow from last winter then spreading it back out on the slopes) to create a slope of just under a kilometre long in its Resterkogel sector.
Despite having one of the lowest altitude ski areas of the major resorts in the Alps, prior to the pandemic, Kitzbuhel endeavoured to open for at least 200 days each season from October to May. It's unclear if that's the aim this winter, previously it opened earlier in October in order to achieve it.

Apres Ski Rules in Austria Dependent on COVID Levels
Published : 09-Oct-2021 12:50
It's no surprise that the famously raucous après ski scene at some Austrian resorts will not be the case this coming winter, but the country's government has come up with measures to decide exactly what it can be like.
In short, it depends a lot on the impact of COVID in Austria next winter, and the rules could change quickly if things get worse, but it seems skiers that are fully vaccinated – or have evidence that they're recently recovered from a COVID 19 infection - will have the best hope of the least restricted experience.

E-Quad Riding On Swiss Snow
Published : 03-Oct-2021 02:06
Ski resorts continue to offer more and more alternatives to JUST skiing or boarding on the snow, and there's also an onus from most in doing things in an environmentally friendly way.
So petrol heads will find it increasingly harder to find ice circuits to skid gas-guzzling cars around, with many of these already now offering electric cars instead and the other old favourite of snowmobiling is also switching to electric versions.
