Surrounded on three sides by open sea and with one of the biggest verticals in Scandinavia (increased to 1272m with off-piste) , served by a new gondola, helped to attract a World Cup Downhill in 1991. The ski area at Fagernesfjell, located on the city limits, was originally built to provide recreation for the locals, who today claim to have the best off-piste skiing in northern Europe.


The Norwegian ski resort of Narvik is at an altitude of 130m, with 11km of marked runs.

Narvik has direct access to 11km of downhill skiing, with 14 marked pistes, served by a total of 4 ski lifts.

Snow cover is generally reliable due to the Scandinavian climate..


Narvik offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate skiers.


Narvik offers some good boarding and there is a Snow Park in Narvik.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Narvik is Harstad/Narvik, 60 minutes drive away.

Kiruna airport is also within three hours drive.

Harstad/Narvik is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.


Ski Lift Capacity

The four ski lifts are able to uplift 4,118 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 4km of ski runs, with 5 snow cannons.
