Obertraun/Dachstein

Traditional village with curling rink, hunting and sleigh rides on offer. Cable cars ascend to the classic Berghotel Krippenstein, which offers accommodation at 2100m. Ski runs descend from this point, or you could parascend.

Free riding down from Krippenstein Mountain in the looming shadow of ‘Mount Dachstein’ will fit any rider’s powder fancy beyond all mass tourism. Shred down the untracked off-piste steeps and slopes beneath Krippenstein Mountain, 2.100m high, and experience the ultimate virgin powder ride. A total of 30 km of off-piste tracks with a vertical drop of 1.500m makes even expert riders get hot under the collar.
