Snow Forecast Summary - 6th November 2009

The forecast snows duly arrived this week; with individual falls exceeding 25cm and accumulations reaching 50cm or more in parts of The Alps and The Dolomites. Scandinavia also received heavy snows last weekend.The open Austrian glacier resorts all received fresh snow, as did Tignes in France. The Swiss glaciers at Les Diablerets, Engadin and Zermatt are also open and reporting fresh snow.
Weather and Snow Next Week
Temperatures should stay around or below the seasonal average for the next week, with widespread light to moderate snowfalls expected on Saturday and Monday. Further occasional snow may occur later in the week but is unlikely to be heavy.
Beyond next week the trends look encouraging with continued low temperatures and a likelihood of regular precipitation.
