Hintertux

Hintertux is Austria's premier glacier ski resort, offering skiing all year round. With stunning views and diverse pistes, it's a favorite for skiers and snowboarders alike.

The ski area of Hintertux is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 1,500m, with 236km of marked runs.

Hintertux is part of the Tux - Finkenberg ski area with access to 227km of downhill skiing, with 24 marked pistes, served by a total of 59 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Hintertux itself (236km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Tux - Finkenberg ski resort of Finkenberg.

With ski lifts as high as 3,250m, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Skiing

The mountains at Hintertux reach an elevation of 3,250 meters, featuring the Hintertux Glacier ski area. Key lifts include the Gletscherbus 1 and 2, while notable pistes such as the Olperer and the Harakiri challenge skiers with their steep descents.

Hintertux offers good sking, particularly, for Intermediate skiers.

Snowboarding

Snowboarding at Hintertux is enhanced by the terrain parks, including the Betterpark, which offers a variety of jumps and rails. The glacier conditions ensure excellent snow quality for freestyle enthusiasts.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Hintertux is Innsbruck Airport, 80 minutes drive away.

Munich, Salzburg and Bolzano airports are all within three hours drive.

To reach Hintertux, fly into Innsbruck Airport, approximately 85 kilometers away. From there, you can drive or take a train to the resort, enjoying scenic views along the way.

Snow-making is available, on 120km of ski runs, with 120 snow cannons.
